Can You Run Cyberpunk 2077? System Requirements & Real Performance

Game requirements guide · Updated for 2026

Cyberpunk 2077 is still one of the most demanding games you can install, largely because of its dense open world and optional ray tracing. Here's what your PC really needs to run it well.

Official system requirements

CD PROJEKT RED lists these targets for 1080p gameplay. Treat "minimum" as the bar for a stable low-settings experience, and "recommended" as the target for a smooth 60 FPS on high settings.

ComponentMinimum (1080p Low)Recommended (1080p High)

What performance to actually expect

The numbers on the box don't tell the full story. Here's a realistic picture at 1080p:

Ray tracing and path tracing

Cyberpunk's ray-traced and path-traced modes look stunning but are brutal on hardware. Even strong cards lean heavily on upscaling (DLSS or FSR) and frame generation to stay smooth. If you're on anything below an RTX 3070, keep ray tracing off and spend your frames on resolution and settings instead.

The three things that matter most

If you're upgrading for this game, prioritize in this order: a capable GPU first, an SSD second (the world streams constantly and a hard drive causes stutter), and 16 GB of RAM third. A mid-range CPU from the last few years is rarely the bottleneck at 1080p.
